With this project call, projects that contribute to net zero emission target in transport will be determined specific to each type of transportation. This call provides an important opportunity for project owners in terms of accessing national and international financing, technical assistance and international visibility. Project proposals at all stages are accepted. Priority is given to projects that have achieved the Advanced Technology Readiness Level (TRL 8) or projects that closely align with the national net zero target.
- Identifying Projects That Will Lead Transformation: Developing projects that will lead the zero-emission transformation in transport aligning with Türkiye’s net-zero emission strategies
- Shaping National Policy: Developing concrete implementations of the net zero emission roadmap in Türkiye’s transportation sector.
- Enhancing Financing Mechanisms: Creating a financial framework to support projects that will lead the zero-emission transformation in the transport sector.
With this Call for Projects, we invite the private sector, public institutions, academia, NGOs, SMEs and start-ups to submit their project proposals.
1. Technical Assistance Projects
These are projects focused on capacity building, training, feasibility studies and technology transfer. These initiatives aim to strengthen institutional and technical capacities, facilitate knowledge sharing and support the adoption of innovative practices in the transport sector.
2.Infrastructure Projects
These are projects aimed at implementation of sustainable transport solutions in the field. These projects may include the construction or modernization of infrastructures such as electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, hydrogen refueling points, bicycle paths and contribute to sustainable mobility by emission reduction.
3. Innovation and R&D Projects
Includes pilot projects that are aimed at basic, practical or industrial research, as well as testing and validating the new low-carbon technologies or solutions.
With the projects selected within the scope of this call you may have the opportunity to access the following areas:
- Shortlisted projects (8 priority + 7 reserve) will participate in financing negotiations with national and international financial institutions and will bring you directly together with multilateral development banks, green funds and impact investors.
- Access to special financial instruments such as blended finance, grants and low interest loans to reduce risk (de-risk) in implementation.
- High-Level Technical Assistance: Access to expert guidance on improving project documentation, ensuring alingment with EU Taxonomy criteria and preparing documents in accordance with investor requirements.
- Creating a strategy for accessing high-quality financing.
- Opportunity to directly shape Türkiye’s Net Zero Policy Framework for Transport. The outcomes of your project will shape national legislation and sectoral roadmaps. For example, technical assistance for new regulations can influence the development of a new policy framework. A study project on alternative fuels can provide a basis and pave the way for the implementation of a new strategy in the transport sector.
- Opportunity to be recognized as a “Flagship Initiative” in ministerial reports and international forums.
- Opportunity to present your work to international media, investors and partners.
Project proposals that directly or indirectly develop net zero, low carbon or climate resilient strategies for all modes of transport in the transport sector are accepted. Potential focus areas include the following:
