About Us
The "Türkiye's Net Zero Emission Target: Transport Roadmap" Project, funded by the European Union (EU) and carried out by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, aims to contribute to Türkiye's development of concrete policies to achieve the net zero emission target in the transport sector and transition to an environmentally friendly and sustainable transport system.

Net Zero Emission in Transportation
Net Zero Emission means balancing the amount of greenhouse gas (carbon emissions) released into the atmosphere through carbon offsetting and emission reduction methods. Therefore, it means bringing carbon dioxide emissions into balance rather than completely eliminating direct emissions. For this reason, it is expressed as "net zero" rather than "zero".

The European Union (EU) is at the forefront of the fight against climate change, setting ambitious targets and implementing transformative strategies for a sustainable future. 1990s, the EU has systematically developed policies to reduce the environmental impact of the transport sector.

Inspired by the EU’s sustainable transport strategies, Türkiye is developing forward-looking solutions to achieve its 2053 Net Zero Emissions target.
