Training Programme on Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Decision Support Systems in the Transport Sector Completed
The 12th Training Module under the “Türkiye’s Net Zero Emission Target: Road Map for Transport” Project was held over two days on 9–10 April 2026.
The training covered the role of artificial intelligence and data analytics in the transport sector; their applications in road safety, traffic management, infrastructure and operations; AI strategies and implementation challenges; governance, ethics and institutional capacity; and case studies and future AI roadmaps.
Delivered by Raj Mohan and Dr Omar Jamal, experts from the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL), the training combined theoretical frameworks with practical examples, case studies and interactive discussions.
The programme aimed to strengthen participants’ capacity to integrate artificial intelligence and data analytics into transport-related decision-making processes, assess AI applications in terms of ethics, reliability and responsible use, and identify relevant areas of application and priorities in line with the needs of their institutions.
