The 1st Steering Committee Meeting of the “Türkiye’s Net Zero Emission Roadmap for Transport” Project Was Successfully Held
The Steering Committee Meeting of the “Türkiye’s Net Zero Emission Roadmap for Transport” Project, implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure with the financial cooperation of the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye, was successfully held in Ankara on 24 April 2025.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders to review the project’s progress and strategic outputs. The activities conducted so far were presented, including the development of the Policy Review and Prioritisation Report, the Best Practices and Benchmarking Report, the Stakeholder Engagement Workshops, the current state assessment of Türkiye’s transport systems, and the preliminary results of the Net Zero Roadmap preparation.
Participants discussed the findings from the national and global policy analysis, the stakeholder engagement results, and the development of simulation models to support decarbonization pathways. Furthermore, the progress in training modules, the strategic communication approach, and the project pipeline activities were shared with the Steering Committee members.
The meeting emphasized the commitment to achieving Türkiye’s 2053 Net Zero Emission target in the transport sector and highlighted the collaborative efforts between public institutions, international organizations, and the private sector.
